Senior Applications Specialist -Chromatography

Job Description

Provide support for global sales teams and customers through explanation of product knowledge, product and applications training, interpretation of data sets, troubleshooting and articulation of market positioning - Design and execute experiments required for the media characterization and benchmarking for the development and production of key process and analytical chromatography proof statements and marketing literature to support customers, internal field specialists and global marketing position - Represent POROS products and related applications to domestic and international customers at company-sponsored seminars and process development conferences - Perform on-site customer support for evaluations and troubleshooting, including bench scale purification and optimization, and large scale column packing - Characterize and benchmark chromatography media (process bulks and analytical media) utilizing new and standard chromatography tools - Participate on new product development teams gathering voice of customer data and providing technical feedback on product performance - Provide technical support to manufacturing related to process or product improvement programs - Participate in a cross-functional marketing team examining new product opportunities in biopharmaceutical production market.

B.S. or higher degree in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Biology or Chemistry - Significant experience (5-10 years) in a downstream process development setting where chromatography based purification methods were developed and scaled - Strong knowledge of process and product development for biotherapeutics - Ability to work independently, analyze data, multi-task, troubleshoot and work as part of a multi-disciplinary group - Ability to interact and communicate with customers via phone, email and in-person - Ability to speak in a public setting, to audiences ranging in size from 5-50 - Knowledge of analytics used to support purification process development, including HPLC, ELISA, SDS-PAGE and Spectroscopy
